CHICAGO | Lakeview | Spring Finds

The many neighborhoods in Chicago offer a variety of entertainment you must experience! Did you know if you ate dinner out every night at a new restaurant, it would take you 20 years to eat at them all? It is a statistic that haunts me and pushes me to keep exploring.. Every evening is an opportunity to take advantage of all the experiences one night can hold so I've picked out some of my favorites for you.

Dining

Meant to be a culinary experience, I had high hopes when reserving a table at Ella Elli. The best dish I had was the salmon avocado toast which is an appetizer..so may I suggest going here for a happy hour and enjoying the ambiance. Their brunch menu looks yummy, I'd strongly suggest starting the day here instead of finishing the evening.

Ah, one of my favorites. Their laid back vibe downstairs would lead you to think the homey atmosphere is all they offer but there is a secret speakeasy upstairs with mood lighting, velvet chairs, and a beautiful piano. If you're looking for a delicious meal and a quiet getaway, you can trust that Barrelhouse Flat will be your safe haven.

Uncommon Ground - Wrigleyville

If you love a wholesome meal and late night music, this is your scene. With a cozy bar, fireplace, and singer/song writers often performing, you don't want to miss out on this experience! Good luck deciding what to order - last time I ate brunch there I had to order two different entrees because it all sounded so good.

One of the reasons I am particularly fond of this place is because of how accommodating they were to my visiting family with restricted diets. After asking for the long list of allergies they worked with my family to make sure they were given a delicious meal they could enjoy without batting an eye. It was so comforting to see what could be a stressful situation for a server and those with dietary restrictions turned into a positive moment.

Entertainment

Chicago also has a great theater, music, and comedy scene. I have met some fantastic actors and comedians in this city and enjoyed very moment soaking up the amazing talent in this city.

Theater Wit - Lakeview

This past February I went to see a play at Theater Wit - and WOW. I was moved by the writing, the performances, and the unpretentious atmosphere. If you're looking for a place that feels like a community and a quiet, hilarious oasis from the hustle and bustle of Chicago, this is it.

Annoyance Theater - Lakeview

So many quality people entertain and hang out here. With a variety of shows that will leave you with lasting laughs and the comfortable bar scene, soak up every moment and trust if you bring new friends you will most certainly meet someone pretty cool.

I would love to hear your take on these places and if you have any favorites in other neighborhoods, send them my way! Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
