DIY Flower Crown Party

What’s a girl to do when her apartment is too small to host a birthday party? (#cityproblems, anyone?) Over Christmas I hosted a wonderful holiday party and packed my studio with 12 people. We had a blast but I wanted to do something artsy this year. Picking something artsy was easy but it also required a roomy venue (plus I needed natural light and a homey feel.) Most studios cost a pretty penny to rent and the supplies can make the event even pricier. I had toyed with the idea of hosting a flower crown making party for years and what do you know! Indigo and Violet Studio fell into my lap as I was perusing Instagram one day and I was intrigued! After sending Leigh a DM we began to email back and forth to plan what turned out to be a blast of a party.

She selected the flowers and all materials while I orchestrated the menu and made a photo-booth. However, Indigo and Violet also offers photo-booths if you don't want to make your own. We snacked, gabbed, and crafted away! Using silk flowers and wire to wrap around our heads, Leigh showed us the way.

Leigh made the set-up for the day easy and had a playlist going throughout the event (I love when I don’t have to be in charge of the music!) She helped us make flower crowns creatively and patiently, ready to aid at any moment where we struggled. And check it out! Everyone made such unique crowns with the same supplies Leigh provided.

Leigh has been pursuing this dream of hers since November and is seriously killing it! Indigo and Violet has fantastic events weekly – hosting workshops ranging from tea socials, sip and sew nights, bath bomb nights, making dream catchers or spring wreathes. Check out these photos she took from the party, loved having them to look back on the day!

If you’re curious or have an upcoming event you should use the promo code, ULTRAVIOLET for $5 off your first workshop! It’s a great thing to do for any celebration or a rainy day.
